Richard Feynman makes me wish I were a physicist Oct 20, 2009
Just finished reading Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! (Adventures of a Curious Character) and I'm inspired in a big way. Curiosity rules.

It's obvious when things belong together and when they don't. But there's a gray area in between that gets me stuck sometimes.

I'm talking about mixing my personal posts on the same website that has my professional links. Like it or not, my personal views can affect my professional standing.
With that in mind, I'm contemplating splitting this site up. If you have an opinion about it, I'd love to hear it.
The Spaces application looked promising when I first saw it. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed when I actually got my mitts on it. Spaces would shift around, and I could never get to the window I wanted quickly enough.
Two halves don't make a whole. 2 halves plus 8 + national publicity + money don't make a whole.
Guys need to use this as an example of how not to be. If you're going into the relationship a pussy, you're going to make yourself and your partner very miserable. Trying to build an army of clone kids in a lab isn't something that healthy, fulfilled people do. If your woman comes at you with these types of crazy demands or ideas, the only right answer is to Jack Bauer up and put your foot down.
And guess what? You'd better start exercising that foot before you get into a relationship. If you're not a self-driven, whole man who knows himself, any relationship you get into will end awfully.

I'm Derek Chin and I'm very happy to be here. Life is a journey and an adventure, and I tend to be the "Big Picture" guy. (I ask silly questions like: "How does this help me and society in the long run?") I have lofty ideals and goals, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. This is a personal blog, so please excuse the tangents I go on, or the type of language I use once in a fucking while. I enjoy making music, doodling, and movie-hopping. Yeah I do.
XHTML/CSS/PHP/JS/MySQL/Ruby(on Rails) is the name of the game. I've had a great experience at very different companies and environments.
Here is a complete list of my work. I am currently available to take on projects. Contact me.
