Review on Autumn in New York! Aug 22, 2000
I just came back from watching "Autumn in New York" starring the famous Richard Gere and Winona Ryder.
I was actually expecting a relaxing romantic movie, but instead, I found myself in my seat, restless waiting for the end of the movie! Despite the good camera angles and very beautiful settings, the story and the lines did not carry through, sad to say. There were too many short scenes and bed/kissing scenes that did NOT make sense or that were unnecessary or simply did not fit. This movie certainly does not compare to "Return to Me" starring Minnie Driver and David Duchovny (although both movies have the same flavor), a very touching yet funny story. So in conclusion, I wish I had not wasted that $8 on this movie and had taken a nap instead (but thank goodness my sis paid for it).

I will agree that Return To Me was a good flick but I think that was because it had a cast of talented people playing funny characters. I do not think I have seen Richard Gere in a good movie... ever?? Oh well, just a thought...
